We founded Stogie Craft LLC in 2021 to harness our obsession with fine woodworking for clients who want to see their ideas brought to life through exceptional wood craftsmanship. The Army made us friends and years of experimenting in Matt’s garage turned us into craftsmen. Together, we have over 28 years of engineering and woodworking experience. We specialize in Fell-to-Finish custom wood products.
Through our Fell-to-Finish processing we harvest live trees
then mill and dry the wood to create one of a kind pieces
Every project we undertake reflects our commitment to excellence. From sourcing premium materials to delivering meticulous craftsmanship, we ensure every detail is perfect. Whether it’s a custom epoxy tabletop or a smaller project, our goal is to create pieces that are as functional as they are beautiful.

Hey there, I’m Cody Mahlstedt. Originally from Baltimore, MD, I moved to the great state of North Carolina in 2011 after joining the Army and have been stationed here ever since. North Carolina is my adopted home and I take great pride in both her beauty, her history and her landscape. Currently serving in the Army, I made an active decision with my partner to put our best foot forward on making our dream business a reality.
Woodworking is in my blood; my father has been a classicly trained carpenter for over 45 years and since I was young, I have always had a fascination with making things out of wood. I love serving my country and giving everyone, including myself, the freedom to prosper and build their own fortunes. Let us help you express a little bit of freedom in your home and celebrate what this country provides us with by a fantastic custom piece worthy of handing down to your children and family
Hey guys, I’m Stubbs. Born and raised in the North Dakota, I joined the Army at a young age, moved to North Carolina to serve at Fort Bragg and have been a native to Hope Mills, NC ever since. I take pride in this majestic state and take care in preserving and using the wood she provides. I am happy to share my craft with my clients and you at home.
Making a career out of woodworking wasn’t always the goal, though. Ever since I was little, I had dreamt of being in the Army. After a successful military career of 16 years , I finally decided it was time to make my passion into a business and share it with the world. Between my partner and me, there is over 28 years of engineering and wood working experience, we are happy to help make your dream piece a reality.
